2013 marks the dawn of a new era. The Mayan long count calendar culminated its 13th B’ak’tun cycle, and now a new one begins! The potential of what we create is in our hands. As the Maya and many indigenous elders say, it is a time to re-establish our connection with the Earth and to open our hearts to the wisdom of the feminine in order to restore a balance between the male and female energies.
This year of 2013 is symbolic in that the number 13 has always been associated with the Goddess and the Divine Feminine. After a very transformational 2012, we are ready to step forward with our hearts and forge new pathways for ourselves and future generations. Here is some inspiration I gathered about the symbolism of the number 13, and the energy supporting the Feminine to come forth and bring her healing hands upon the planet.

This meant that it represented death and re-birth at the same time; as the 13th moon closed one year it also opened another. Oh this is awesome! What amazed me while reading, is that so much of it is precisely what i told myself on New Year’s eve: “New Year…NEW me”. The old way of doing/living is over. I want to be where I should be, and all the stagnation of 2012 is gone,history! All that I’ve experienced or done has brought me closer to my Self, and because i KNOW there is more of(and a better) me to share in this time that we’re in…I’d like to find it this year. interestingly enough the 13th path on the Tree of Life is assigned to the Tarot card The High Priestess (sacred feminine) and links Tiffareth (Heart) to Kether (Divine Consciousness)… no wonder the Church patriarchy condemned it

The world is imploding due to suppression of feminine energy and a lack of connection to the natural world which we forget we are part of. Feminine attributes are considered to be inferior to male attributes. Sadly, the yin and yang are way out of balance and the divine feminine is all that can save humankind at this point. The wretched world we live in today is the obvious manifestation of the imbalance. How do we restore the balance inside ourselves as well as in cultures throughout the world? Is it too late?
