EQUINOX March 20th 2014: Significance, Meaning and Energy~

JIMHARTER-VIA-MYSTICMAMMA

ART: JIM HARTER

As we approach the Equinox, this symbolic day of equal day and night, we are once again reminded of the delicate need for balance. As we integrate the light and shadow aspects within ourselves and others and find the dance between them, we fine tune and harmonize our polarities.
This energy of integration exists in all of nature and reflects to us the give and pull, and the larger harmony inherent  in the apparent chaos.  What ultimately free us and helps us regain our balance, is the opening to the present moment in acceptance of all it holds.
This symbolic point of balance has been celebrated by out ancestors since the beginning of time. In cultures across our planet this period marks and initiation and symbolic integration of the forces of light and dark.
Belsebuub & Angela Pritchard from Belsebuub expand upon the symbolic and spiritual significance of this time:
“In Christianity, the spring equinox is the time of the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. Likewise in ancient Egypt, it is the time of the resurrection of the ancient Egyptian god Osiris; and the resurrection of the Mayan Maize God Hun Hunahpu. The Great Sphinx of Giza, in Egypt, symbol of resurrection, gazes precisely at the rising of the spring equinox sun.
“The temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia aligns to the spring equinox, and depicts the scene of the ‘churning of the milky ocean’—the struggle between the forces of light and darkness.”
“Throughout the world, the spring equinox is a time of great confrontation between the forces of darkness and light, in the death and resurrection of the central deities of sacred teachings throughout the world.”

May we all inhabitants of our beautiful Mother Earth, honor and celebrate the balancing that is taking place and welcome the change of seasons with a grateful heart.
On this day, I will be joining hundreds of women in ceremony under the guidance of the International Council of the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. We will be praying for all us to come into right balance with ourselves, with each other, and with our Mother Earth.  Join us in spirit and prayer for the benefit of all living things.
If you don’t have a particular faith or community that provides this, don’t be afraid to create your own and reclaim your connection to the source of all life.
Ritual acts give life meaning. They also honor and acknowledge the unseen web of Life that connects us all. They reminds us that we are part of something way bigger that is beyond our knowing and comprehension but can only be experienced and felt.
A simple act done with intention in your heart is enough. Perhaps it’s a silent gratitude walk in nature, or gathering with friends around a fire, or the creation of an object with intention. For ritual and ceremony ideas see this post >>here<<
Happy Equinox and blessings to us all!

  1. Thank you! this is happening now for me, in my life. I am so grateful for your community of experience and guidance. I am excited for the changes upon us all personally, communally- and globally. Tonight a friend gave me the gift of a word to describe me: Valiant- like a Warrior. Gentle, and Valiant. She is pregnant with a new being, such a beautiful new soul to help bring about a new era of Love and healing of all beings and this Planet. May we not forget. may we remember to see all of the magic that is here in this moment, Now. AUM.

  2. For all Mystic Mammas and Glorious Goddesses who read this: Through this web of life and beyond, I am sending you love, balance and freedom to go forth on your long good road, on this special day and night. From a wet, blustery Equinox afternoon in England, I am lighting a candle with you all in mind and in heart. xx

  3. I’m a very spiritual person and can thank my lovely cousin who taught me everything outside the box of what my family had info about… Astrology, positive thinking, art, asking for what you want from the universe, ect. This made my day! My grandmother also and mom & meme have taught so much! Happy equinox:)

  4. Such a nice read as I work with my beautiful elementary school children itching all over with “spring fever,” along with the rest of us so-called grown-ups. Mucho joy and energy as you can imagine. I am a grandmother, a mystic mama, psychic on behalf of all her babies and grandbabies. praying on behalf of all of us, our mama planet and our parent stars.

  5. Many thanks mystic mamma for your dedication for providing many with insightful tools in written form, it is much appreciated.
Spring equinox blessings to you & all,
    in balanced awareness,
    ~ N
